Weather and Energy Use in San Angelo

San Angelo has a humid climate with hot summers (sometimes very hot!) and mild winters (but also sometimes very cold!), which means that your energy use can spike at certain times of the year.

This is one major reason why many San Angelo residents choose a fixed rate plan with a 12, 24, or 36 month contract: so they can know what to expect from each month’s energy bill. But our variable rate, time of use, and month-to-month plans are also built with San Angeloans in mind, to make sure that you find a plan that fits your needs and your budget.

FAQ

Because San Angelo, like large parts of Texas, has a deregulated energy market, your electricity will be generated and transmitted by a utility that is assigned based on your area, but you must choose a retail energy provider (REP). For a handy guide on how to choose which plan is right for you, read How to Shop for Energy in Texas.

For San Angelo residents, we offer fixed, variable, time-of-use, and month-to-month plans, all of which are powered by green energy. We also offer special plans that are 100% wind or solar power plans, digital discount plans, home protection bundling plans, and more. To find out what plans are available to you, visit gotrhythm.com and enter your zip code.

We make it easy! Our service generally starts on the same day you request it, and we’ll handle all of the hassle of switching. Plus, you get a 30 day risk-free trial to make sure that it’s the right plan for you.

Many of our plans come in 12, 24, or 36 month term lengths. Some, like our month-to-month plan, do not require a long-term contract.

If thousands of happy customers are any indication, then you’re going to love Rhythm Energy. But just to make sure that you do, we offer a 30 day risk-free trial period. If you break your contract after the first 30 days, we will charge an early termination fee of $10-20 for each whole month remaining in your contract, depending on the plan selected.

Got an electric vehicle? We’ve got you covered, with EV Plans tailored just for you.

The rate you pay depends on where you live, determined by how much it costs to produce electricity, delivery fees from your utility, and the energy market. We offer fixed rate plans that bill you the same monthly rate for 12, 24, or 36 months, as well as variable rate plans that change monthly based on the wholesale cost of energy.

Some of our plans do require a deposit, which can be paid online during plan sign-up or by calling 1-888-7RHYTHM. The deposit must be satisfied before an enrollment can be confirmed or electricity service started. Deposits will be fully reimbursed after 12 consecutive on-time payments, with interest at the rate approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Based on their credit profile, some customers may qualify for the Deposit Alternative Program.

Rhythm Energy offers same-day electricity connection, enabling fast and easy services for our customers.

Texas electricity providers have no control over power outages, but at Rhythm Energy we are committed to helping make sure that the power you want and need is reliable. Because utility companies, rather than providers, are responsible for maintaining the grid, if you experience a power outage then you should contact your utility. Find the right phone number and helpful tips here.

You can also stay up to date on live grid and power outage information through updates from your local utility company, as well as through ERCOT alerts. Sign up here for ERCOT grid emergency alerts to be sent to your email address.

We do! For only dollars a month, you can protect your appliances from unexpected power surges, your HVAC system from stopping when you need it most, and your plumbing from failing with comprehensive protection home services plans from Rhythm Energy and our partners. To learn more about these plans, visit our Home Protection Plans page.

In partnership with SimpliSafe, we also offer a home security + electricity bundle. Get 2 months of professional monitoring for free when you bundle with a SimpliSafe® Home Security system, including a choice of indoor or outdoor camera. Sign up for one of our home security bundles and save up to $492. Learn more on our Texas Energy Plans page.

Diversifying the sources of power that San Angeloans use into more renewable energy sources is an important step in stabilizing the grid. An area that relies heavily on natural gas for power generation (like San Angelo) can be subject to gas shortages and volatile prices on the market. By diversifying into a greater number of renewable sources like Rhythm Energy uses, particularly in larger cities, the state may be able to help avoid future blackouts. To learn more about the grid and what measures are being taken to stabilize the grid, read our article on the Texas Power Grid.

At Rhythm Energy, we don't charge our customers any hidden fees (including minimum usage fees).

We offer customer service 7 days a week. Why? Because we don’t think of it as “customer service,” we just treat people the way we would like to be treated. If you have any questions or comments, we’re eager to hear them! Email us at support@gotrhythm.com, chat with us on our website, or call us at 1-888-7RHYTHM.
